<just under 5 lbs. and gaining, the only problem is a bad diaper rash that is getting progressively worse. The baby is also "leaking' stools at almost every diaper>

Does mom have any possible oversupply, possibly from "insurance pumping"? Is mom nursing using one breast till it is as soft as possible, maybe even 2 or more feedings using same breast? Could there be a possibility of relative lactose intolerance from not enough hind milk/milk fat? What about lacto-engineering by saving some pumped milk and skimming fat off of it to feed baby as a p.c.? More hind milk will slow the passage through the gut, cutting the possibility of stool leakage at every feed and allow the lactase more time to digest the lactose instead of its "digesting" the baby's bottom.

Also, thrush can cause a horrific diaper rash. A possible red flag to check out further???
