After > a year of planning, our hospital lactation service has just begun
seeing moms after discharge.  Our billing and finance people have told us
that they do not contract for reimbursement of any RN provided services to
outpatients.  Our lactation director questions this, since we know that the
hospital charges for wound and ostomy care to outpatients, which is all
performed by RNs working under MD orders.  So, how are other people in
institutions billing for LC services?  And what kind of track records are
you having for getting reimbursed?
