Hi all,
Today a friend stopped by for a minute. She left her sleeping baby in the
car (20 feet away) with an older child while we chatted. All of a sudden,
she said, " I gotta go get the baby. I can tell when he needs me. I just
had a let-down!" However, the baby was peacefully asleep. It seems she had
heard one of our 5 BABY GOATS crying! Talk about mothering instincts.
Anyway, living on a farm, we have learned much about mothering instincts.
If only humans were more like our nanny goats. Our healthy happy "babies"
are 6 weeks old now and have never had any ABM, (cow or human) But they are
already beginning solids, nibbling at mom's goat feed.
Life on the funny farm. Pam Wiggins
