At one time, when they were available in our hospital, they were the busy
nurse's answer to every breastfeeding problem. She slapped on a shield, the
baby "nursed," and the mom was happy. I don't want to return to that mind
set, so they'd be an LC option only.

I haven't been able to lead all of the staff nurses into the sunlight of
progressive breastfeeding practice yet. (If you think you can't teach an old
dog new tricks, you should try an old nurse. <G>) But nobody would try this,
because they all know I would be VERY UPSET with them. ( I don't lose my
temper very often, but that one's a guarantee.)
