Beste Magda / Barbara,

I would like to get hold of a copy of Magda's article about test weighing
(as will others I think) and was wondering if you can post the title? I've
tried to find it via PubMed but MIDIRS is not listed, nor can I find a
reference to it on the MIDIRS website.

Magda's article is *not* about test weighing, which is not done  here...and hasn't been for ages and ages. It's 
about (among other aspects of newborn care) weighing, which is done  haphazardly and without any good 
evidence base for frequency or findings. And as Magda said, scales in use are often old-fashioned srping 
balance hammock-type.

The article is Breastfeeding: weighing in the balance.

Magda and her co-author Sam Oddie may be too modest to say, but this is truly an excellent article. But 
because it challenges practice and what professionals 'know' about weighing and breastfeeding, its effect will 
be slow and cumulative. It needs other authors and researchers to build on it and make it more widely 
available  - MIDIRS is the best  written midwifery resource in the UK, but many midwives never see it : (
