Dear Friends:
    It was Dr. Sears himself who said that one of the reasons he had formula
advertising on his site was for the money.
    His comments make me angry. Don't formula companies spend enough money
working on their formulas trying to make them more like human milk? Why do
they need him?  Because he has a good name in the breastfeeding community. He
is not a formula manufacturing scientist that is really going to make a
difference.
    The idea of becoming deeply involved in an industry which is already
undermining breastfeeding around the world, no matter for how "noble" a
reason is a paradox that doesn't work.
    The formula industry will get far more out of his name than he will ever
get from them. You all just watch.
