I just had to thank all of you who responded to my post.  I hesitated to discuss the situation in the past because,  well, maybe I was wrong.  I was so encouraged to have such supportive feedback from all of you.

Of course, I would really like to hear from anyone who disagrees and feels that latch on is the most important goal.

Leaving that job was traumatic, especially in view of the fact that I also lost my other job a few months later and am now unemployed, with a very, very small and eratic private practice.   Unfortunately standing for what is right may soon result in my taking a job outside the field.  I have 2 kids in college and must earn money now.

I can't thank you all enough for your words of support.  It was very healing for me.
