Dear Friends:
    Why would piercing prevent a baby from breastfeeding? Milk already comes
out of the holes (nipple pores) on the surface of the nipple. A few more holes
in the shank wouldn't be any problem; baby would learn to adjust.
    If she takes out the rings during the pregnancy, the holes will heal
closed. If she develops scar tissue, there might be some future bump in the road
to successful breastfeeding, but there is no way to know until she does it.
    Gee whiz, get out the purple duct tape for another nutty reason not to
breastfeed!
