when i hear this from parents, i may comment:

"yes, a consistently well latched/effective/efficient/vigorously
breastfeeding baby may take about 15 minutes to get almost all the milk in a
breast - breast are constantly producing/never empty - but, a newborn in
these early days is learning and may not be consistently well
latched/effective/efficient/vigorously breastfeeding, they may in fact
sometimes be somewhat ineffective/inefficient, sleepy/pokey, easily confused,
for example; a newborn may get well latched onto a perfectly good breast,
then feel something on their cheek and pull off to suck on their fist - still
learning how to breastfeed, the newborn knows instinctively the need to suck,
but learning how to breastfeed at your particular breast is something the
baby is learning in these early days, the baby needs lots of practice, it is
better to watch the baby, not the clock, .............watch the baby for
signs of light sleep state /early feeding cues:
squirming, stretching, squeaking, ................sucking, smacking,
searching................ means breastfeed the baby"
