I have a mom who weaned her 14 mo old 6 weeks ago due to being put on a
medicine a doctor told her she could not nurse on. The mom declined to
tell me the medicine as I thought maybe it was a medicine she did not have
to wean. However, she has weaned, and the baby is okay with that and only
called to report a tightness in both breasts in the morning. She had never
talked to me before that. I thought it might be a MER and will eventually
go away, as the baby's last nursing she gave up was the morning nursing.
She also has leaked a little which I told her is normal or the medicine
she is on may increase her prolactin level, she is going to ask her doctor
this. Does anyone have any experience with mom's feeling a description
of "tightness" after weaning? If you can post privately to me, I would
appreciate it, or to the list, if you have any other thoughts. I know I
occasional felt the tingling sensation post weaning, for years, but not
every day, or maybe it was just wishful feeling to be back in blissful
days of nursing your little ones!
