this is not my idea, but another LC's, but try silicon tubing, size 0.025" x
0.047" named silclear. A needleless system 'needle' (can't think what they
are called, but one that connects up to a luer plug works) or a 21G needled
with the end filed off and re-autoclaved plugged into the tubing, and the
needle dangled into a contained of EBM, with the tubing taped to the breast.
Works as a one-time, one mother use.
Another thing to try (more expensive) is an IV cannula (stylet removed of
course) taped to the breast for a burst of milk to encourage the reluctant
sucker. Don't use a large gauge (22g or so) so the baby can't feel it so
much. Can't give big quantities but good as a 'kick-start" agent.

Good luck!!

Fiona Hermann, who survived Monday's IBCLC exam - just! -roll on October!
