I just wanted to announce the all natural birth of my very first grandchild!? Scarlett Ann.? 6 pounds 8 ounces 19 in long.? She was birthed gently into this world August 12, 2009 at 3:28 PM.? At the Fruitful Vine Birth Center in Jacksonville Fl.? She latched within minutes of birth and continues to love to latch frequently!? Mom's milk started to come in by 28 hours and has surged in by 48 hours.? Scarlett is milk drunk as I type, in my arms, while my daughter showers.? She was at the Pediatrician (who is an IBCLC) today for the metabolic testing. She was taken from her car seat, placed in a sling, so proud of my daughter. She is in her arms nursing whenever she wants and Daddy has her as much as possible, skin to skin.? Water broke at 5:30 AM, harder contractions at 7AM.? To the birth center at 10AM (me driving frantically 5 hours from Ft Lauderdale, left my house at 6:15AM).? I arrived at 10:30, we had a baby at 3:28PM.? It was truly the perfect birth story!? A gentle entry into a new world.?
