I would think another way to fight it would be "why send this home with
breastfeeding moms who are just dumping it and giving it to shelters, let's
save it and send it home (or send extra home) with moms who really 'need'
it, the determined to bottlefeed from day one moms". Granted the best
would be none at all, but it's baby steps right?

Oh ok, some good breastfeeding news for you all. My MIL works with some
doctors who help integrate health and work issues. She was talking to them
about breastfeeding and about how I was hoping my 2 yr old would resume
nursing when the next baby comes in a few weeks. The doctors all smiled
and nodded approvingly and went on about how it was so good to do that and
they wished more mothers would do that or at the very least pump for their
toddlers because that milk is so special and good for you at any age, but
that it would still be better if all mothers would nurse to child led
weaning and tandem nurse. Could have knocked me over with a feather. Now
if only these guys were pedis and obs instead of fps...
