Carolyn, I wouldn't have said so.

I haven't come across any time limit for thrush in the breasts in my
personal experience with mothers, and I don't know of anywhere in the
lit. that suggests it...have I missed something?

Stabbing pains after a period of pain-free feeding always make me
think 'thrush'.

Getting the right treatment for it in the UK is a different matter : (
