 I don't think I would use this as a tool to enhance latch, especially in
this case. Wouldn't the ice make mom have trouble letting down? I can only
imagine how it would feel! How about wearing breast shells? Or using the hand pump
for a minute or two to evert the nipple and get a bit of milk? How about a
nipple shield? You don't say how old baby is now but if it was a little early that
could be impacting the suck as well.
       I do agree with the idea of enhancing milk supply but wonder if
suggesting medication is necessary when fenugreek and blessed thistle is easy to get
and cheap, and works well, along with continued pumping to increase a milk
supply. Even hand expression might work. When she is with the baby can they do
some skin to skin?
       This is a sad situation and we can't always alter the
circumstances....hang in there.
