A few days ago I posted this question--
"I'd like information and your experience on wine given during a bris and
altering gut flora. How much wine is given? Is the quantity enough to get
down into the stomach and change the flora? What alternatives to wine are
there for a  bris, if any? How do you reconcile the issue of giving the wine
verse "nothing but breastmilk for six months?" "

I am so disappointed at how side tract the the conversation got.  I eagerly
came back to lactnet tonight to check for a response and am sorry to see
that no one read my question, right. I thought my question was well written
and specific about the wine. The family has decided the ceremony is going to
be done. Now, could anyone provide information about an alternative to the
wine, or thoughts about gut integrity. I really would like help from IBCLCs
(especially orthodox IBCLCs)  living in Jewish communities their thoughts on
the quanity of wine and alternatives. I do not live in a Jewish Community
and the resources and experience I have available are very limitted.
