Jennifer,
Both pump companies have what they call "grant pumps"--the rental station
has "x" number of pumps it can "rent" free to deserving mothers. The
rental station decides on the criteria to make a mother eligible for the
free pump. Medela and Ameda/Hollister have different rules on how many
"free" rentals a station can make per year based on the number of pumps
they carry. The rental station is not charged "rental" for the grant
pump for the time it is loaned free (usually 1 month), so no one loses
money. I would try for the grant pump first, even though you have made
the generous offer of your personal pump.

Warmly,
