The question is posted: does the IBLCE Scope of Practice permit for an
IBCLC to "recommend and encourage" the use of herbs or medication.

I guess my my first question would be:  How do *you* read the IBLCE Scope
of Practice?  http://www.iblce.org/upload/downloads/ScopeOfPractice.pdf.

I don't see anything in there about prescribing powers.

I do see an awful lot about an IBCLC being able -- indeed, having the
*duty* -- to perform lactation assessments on mothers and babies, and to
provide evidence-based information and support.
