Haven't  touched bases  in quite some time.  Oversupply is still where  
I have concentrated most of my efforts.  I still haven't figured out  
if I will publish my data on oversupply in JHL yet. Not sure if I am  
ready to take that obligation on.
But I can share a few suggestions.
This problem is not all that unusual, many women with severe supply  
problems end up pumping and bottle feeding because their babies are so  
distressed at the breast. Especially when they are headed for the 2nd  
and 3rd phases, where the baby is beginning to refuse the breast. In  
addition to all the suggestions you've gotten so far---
This mom is going to have to "endure" some back pressure in the  
breasts to get the local mechanism's to kick in. Rather than space out  
her pumping sessions I would recommend that she pump as frequently as  
she did before she started to wean off the pump but to take less out.  
I usually have the moms decrease by 1 ounce every other day;  so if  
she is pumping 6 ounces at each session, she pumps only 5 at each  
session; in 2 days time decrease it to 4 ; and in 2 days decrease it  
to 3. If it is really bad you may want to consider decreasing by 1/2  
ounce. Also try to get her to stop double pumping. She would have more  
control over how much she takes out that way (and won't get an oops  
with a double pump). It is about her comfort level and prevention of  
complications. My experience is that if they try to go too fast in  
weaning from the pump they start having complications. remind her that  
weaning is a process and it won't happen overnight.
