In regards, to Fiona Giles post I have to say that it is not necessarily
the case that cultures that do not eroticise the breast also repress female
sexuality. I am no cultural anthropologist by any means, but I spent two
years in Northeast Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo) where sexuality
was a vibrant part of life. Instead of sexualizing the breast, hips and
thighs were considered extremely erotic - the bigger the better. It took
me years after living in Zaire to be able to wear shorts in public.
