What a treat to find LACTNET!  My name is Karen and I am a Lactation
Specialist for the WIC Breastfeeding Promotion Program here in the state of
Mississippi.  I am currently serving both Lincoln and Lawrence Counties.  My
peer counselor and I have around 140 clients in Lincoln County, 20 of which
are totally breastfeeding.  I serve Lawrence County alone and have around 45
clients there, about 10 totally breastfeeding.  I thoroughly LOVE this
job...I have a B.S. in Nutrition from Miami University of Ohio.  I help and
encourage prenatal and support breastfeeding mothers from an extremely rural
setting.  Both my peer counselor and I strive to increase those breastfeeding
numbers every month.  I hold prenatal classes 4 days a week on breastfeeding.
 My peer counselor and I go on home visits to early postpartum breastfeeding
moms and babies.  I will enjoy being a part of LACTNET!
