< I'm planning to explain it in my following
bf courses but would like to be able to produce a one page handout
explaining just how to do it - in Dutch of course. Thus my question is do
I
need permission to translate it (giving credits of course)? The obvious
question is does it exist in Dutch (to save me the pain of translating)?>

Renite asked my permission to translate the short article some time ago
for her website. I have not yet heard from her whether it is complete and
up.
Denise Fisher has it (in English) on her Australian website.

http://www.BreastEd.com.au

I hereby give my permission as the original author of the 600+ word
article to translate it as faithfully as possible into any language and
print it in handout form, as long as the original wording and my name are
retained. You will have to get with Renite or Gonneke about the Dutch
translation.

I understand it has been translated into Norwegian, and is also being
translated into Swedish. An earlier LN posting has been translated into
German, and I am not certain about Hebrew. Perhaps Ester Grunis may have
done so.

I would really prefer anyone who wants to translate it into any language
for distribution to clients or professionals contact me for the updated
copy of this short article that appeared in the final issue of the
Breastfeeding Support Consultants newsletter several years ago. Jan
Barger has put the illustrations into power point and it is used in their
course.

I would love to have a copy in each language, perhaps to use if I come in
contact with mothers of that nationality, but honestly, to show to my
grandchildren!

I also have illustrations I can supply on request. They are excellent
line drawings by my talented (breastfed) grandson. I am reserving my
photos to submit with a longer article, and do not wish to share them at
the moment so as not to interfere with copyright matters.

I am delighted that you found the technique helpful, and that other
mothers will also benefit from you spreading of the information.

With my own rose-colored glasses and style of bucket in hand, (Gail)!

Jean
