I'm not a fan of growth charts because I think that they can be so often
misused and become a source of torture for many mothers. The website below
gives an example of what can happen when amongst other things growth charts
are abused. It's a very interesting story of a baby who was almost removed
from his family because others thought that he was not growing quickly
enough. It all happened in my state and with our Dept of Community Services
(who we had to deal with to adopt our daughter- nuff said). Unfortunately
for DOCS they picked on the wrong family in this case but how many other
cases are there.
