Hi Jodie, Susan et al.,

I applaud your work with moms of multiples.  For many of
the moms I work with, breastfeeding their babies is such a source of joy
and accomplishment.

I'd like to follow up on Susan's thoughts about the closeness that
develops.  I have heard several bottlefeeding moms of twins say they
felt that the relationship between their twins was so close that they
themselves felt like an outsider.  Of all of the breastfeeding moms of
multiples I've worked with, I have never heard that - and in fact - hear
just the opposite.

One more thought on milk supply.  Please let your friend know that it is
entirely possible to supply all the milk her babies need.  We've had
some wonderful stories of moms feeding twins on only one breast and
exclusively breastfeeding triplets, quads and even quints.  Hope that
gives her some encouragement and perspective.  Several of the moms of
multiples on this list (myself included) have breastfed their babies
without ever giving a drop of formula.
