Question:

If a mother is using an electric breastpump, and has borrowed a kit, ie the
tubing, breastshields, etc. from another mother..should she be concerned
with Hepatitis or HIV transmission from the used kit? Does it need to be
autoclaved, or is boiling enough? How long does HIV or Hepatitis live on
plastic surfaces such as pump kit tubing, etc.?

Thanks.
