When I first read your description, what came to my mind was PPD.  Maybe you
should ask about how SHE is feeling, what she feels about her new role as
mother, if she has any unmet expectations, whether she has supportive family
members and/or friends around her.  There may be a family member (mother?
sister?) who is whispering in her other ear.  SHE may want to breastfeed, in
her heart, but obviously there is a disconnect somewhere.
