It has become customary for babies of gest diabetics to go to NICU until 
sugar stable and other babies for every other reason you can think of.  They 
have to staff these units with full time hospitalists and it's NOT cheap. 
Yes, it is revenue.  Hospitals aren't a great place to have babies :-(  Pat
