Hello everyone,
Two big issues that I would like your ideas on.
The first issue is a sad case. I recently recieved a call from a past client who wanted information on breastfeeding while on chemotherapy. As it turns out she is only 15 weeks pregnant with her second
child and only a few days ago learned that she has breast cancer. She is planning a radical mastectomy since there is lymph node involvment and this is, as she tells me, a very aggressive cancer.
She is hoping to keep the pregnancy and with the mastectomy be able to avoid any radiation.(Brave girl) I believe the idea of being able to breastfeed is keeping her sane and focused on the future. If anyone has
any information about this or has any thoughts and ideas please let me know.
The second issue is that I've been contemplating starting an LC business linked to the local pediatric offices.
Has anyone tried this before, and if you have or if anyone has any ideas as to where to begin this
undertaking, please contact me privately throught my email [log in to unmask] I would appreciate any input.
I presently work in a hospital environment and would like to work in a larger community setting.
Thanks to all for any response to either issue.
Sharon Galvin, RN, IBCLC,LCCE
