Well said Margaret Sabo Wills
Tongue ties and then there are tongue ties. We are hurting babies who are not all hurting their mothers. Of course many are but have we really looked at the latch and position as much as we should. Has anyone looked at breastfeeding continuation rates after the influx of all the TT clips done before they have seen an LC. I am very saddened by the trends that are happening. On some of the Facebook pages I do follow and do so thinking I am bettering my education, all I see is sarcasm and I can do a clip better than you can and I use a laser machine better than you do covered with some humour that deflects one from getting better information to the point that I long for the old days as my LC career began.

I have however seen body work done on babies actually helping their latch and this seems to be a big factor in making the latch better but in collaboration as a way to assist the baby to find his own grove.
I still like this page and am enjoying the more candid responses here that are straight forward and kind.

Yes we need to keep up the research but not at the expense of the babies. Don't let breastfeeding become big business of another kind.
