Hi all Lacnetters
A colleague who runs a well baby clinic has been threatened by a Paediatrician that he will have her clinic closed down if she ever tells another mom to use breastmilk in her baby's eyes as that is a sure way to spread CytomegaloVirus. Anyone got any research to support her?
I know a mom with active CMV must not breastfeed a premature baby as the virus will be present in her breastmilk, but if the mom is not ill I often recommend using breastmilk for sticky eyes and stuffy noses.
