Valerie, Sounds like a great cooperative practice. I would carry my own
insurance.
I am not sure about the billing or how he would bill and pay you.
I do operate a followup clinic for bf babies, seen usually 1-2 days after
hospital discharge, or about on day 3-5, and further visits as indicated.
I allot 1 hr for the visit. Some visits are shorter, if the mom is an
experienced bf'er or just doing very well. Some visits are longer, if the
baby is premie or near term, has significant jaundice, latch trouble, or any
number of things. Still if you have appointments back to back you will have
to end the visit and schedule a followup. You have to get done what you can,
and have them come back. Usually it evens out with shorter and longer visits
in one day.
Hope this helps.
