I think there is some correlation beween how a child learns to fall
asleep and the quality of his sleep as he ages. For instance the "cry it
out" babies learn that sleep is a sad and lonely process. Why would this
not haunt them as they grow? As far as normal nightmares and such ,
everyone experiences these from time to time. Atleast the responsive
parents are there to ease the fear. I believe it was T.Berry Brazelton
that wrote something to the effect of, in cultures where co sleeping is
the norm there is no word for sleep disorder. This was after he changed
his policy from no bed sharing to it's good to share sleep . Just my .02
cents!
