Hi Barbara,

It's me, Rita...had a similiar legal scenerio last summer.  While LLLI legal
rights packet had alot of wonderful information it was not really helpful in
my clients circumstance.

My clients lawyer chose to look at the issue from an infant stress point of
view first thus taking breastfeeding out of the focus which seemed to be a
major bone of contention with the father.

Once the judge was convinced that extended separation from the caretaking
parent would be very upsetting to the child she began to see how the
breastfeeding needed to be protected.

We used Selma Frailberg's book (you know the one, you recommended it to me
eons ago) and then followed up with Sears' comments on mother baby
separation, nighttime parenting and fathering.
