Hi Holly,

Here is another thread on this subject:

http://community.lsoft.com/scripts/wa-LSOFTDONATIONS.exe?A1=ind1209D&L=LACTNET&X=747C1047A7B80C6403&Y=laura%40ericsprojects.com#16

If that link doesn't work, the thread was in September week 4. I also posted the following.

I found some studies when I wrote an article about breastfeeding initiation in 2010.

The full article is on my website. If you e-mail me, I will send you the link and you can use my article for your purpose if it is helpful.

"According to Wiklund, Norman, Uvnas-Moberg, Ransjo-Arvidson and Andolf (2009) significantly fewer babies of mothers with epidural anesthesia suckled the breast within the first 4 hours of life. In another study, Jordan S, Emery S, Watkins A, Evans JD, Storey M and Morgan G. (2009) found lower breastfeeding rates associated with epidural anesthesia and drugs administered for induction of labor."
