Another case of not reading the whole story -- toradol works great for post c
section and post op pain -- is safe for breastfeeding -- not for pain reli
ef during labor -- that is where the black box warning came from --- see
currenent information below from micromedex,

I love to call the PDR the Physycians Dumb Reference -- it is an advertising
medium for the drug companies given free to most doctors. -- go to newer
more up to date sources. see below

I will be lecturing at Wayne State University School of Pharmacy (as i have
for the past 9+ years (on just this type Breastfeeding sacrifice from 8-11 am
tomorrow (Monday morning)

And besides due to the possibility of GI side effects in Mom she is only
supposed to take it for no more than 5 days so how much exposure is the baby
early postpartum really going to have (lets get real)

1. The manufacturer states that ketorolac is contraindicated in nursing
mothers due to the potential for adverse effects related to prostaglandin
inhibition in neonates (Prod Info Toradol(R), 2001). <<<< MY Addtion here NO
PROOF OF ADVERSE EFFECTS>>>>>>

2. One study (n=10) found that breast-fed infants would receive the
equivalent of 0.16% to 0.4% of the maternal dose (Wischnik et al, 1989).
<<<<<MY Addition such a tiny amount of potential cross over in the early
postpartum period (5 days max dosage) is a VERY LOW (yes i am shouting) >>>>>>
