i've always wondered why that first feed (of course almost always better
un-medicated etc) happens in any old position, even baby crawling up by
him/her self and latching on prone, mom leaning back, not sitting up
straight etc etc.
but, well, after that we have to get sitting up straight with a pillow here
and a pillow there and this hand is tired so a roll here and the body on the
side, tummy to tummy and the head slightly leaning back so chin pushed into
breast, nose free, baby not to high ie nipple more aimed at nose etc etc.
how come all this wasn't necessary at the first feed? it got so difficult
and so technical and it hurts if it's not absolutely positively right. (i
suppose it could be that the endorphins are so high that the latch feels
good regardless???)
