A client gives permission for this request. She has used 1% gentian violet
on her nipples and baby's mouth once daily for past two days for
yeast/thrush. She is seeing green stools with some dark maroon which looks
like dark blood with a little mucous to her. Her first child used to get
bloody stools. We've been working on oversupply and overactive milk
ejection. Our question is: might this be just a discoloration from the baby
perhaps having swallowed a little of the gentian violet or might it have
irritated the gut? Any information will be appreciated.
