I realize that I have been lurking, unintentionally, and have even posted
without a proper introduction, which I will now correct. I have taught
childbirth classes, the Bradley Method, for almost 14 years. I estimate that
I have worked with a little over 600 families during that time, and I still
adore it. It is a golden opportunity to reach people prenatally and to
follow-up post-natally about breastfeeding. I try to help them make the
adjustment from excited and expectant couple to responsible, responsive
parent.

My education is in child development and I am currently working on my
masters, specializing in infancy, at the Erikson Institute in Chicago. I
am committed to bringing high quality information about the development and
needs of their babies to new parents who generally have precious few
reliable and easily accessible resources. I also try to take every
opportunity to educate my professors and classmates about the importance of
breastfeeding and its misrepresentation by some of the more wacky theorists.

I have nursed (for years each) all three of my boys, now school age. I am
enjoying Lactnet and hope that I will be able to contribute to this
incredible pool of knowledge.
