Hi Barbara,
  When my son was breastfeeding I had to have a body scan and was told I
would need to stop breastfeeding for 72 hours. I talked to his pediatrician
who sought help from a pediatric radiologist.  The radiologist looked at the
dose and my sons weight and determined that I only needed to wait 24 hours.
I don't know much more about what the radiologist looked at, but maybe
someone in this field could help determine if the mom could begin
breastfeeding earlier.  Judith Markham IBCLC
