We did not cfharge for inpatient consults-it was considered part of the regular
package.  For outpatient consults, it was always billed under the baby with the
diagnosis of "infant feeding problem".  Even if it was a mom with a breast or
nipple concern, in the end it was either causing, contributing to, or had the
potential for impacting the infant feeding.  The "powers that be" found in
researching that by making it a maternal issue, it was usually considered
"patient education" and not covered.  We had good results in getting the
consults covered by patient's insurance.  While I may not agree with the
wording, that was how thwe system was worked at the time.  I do not have any
statistics for you and have since retired.
