My opinion about what to wear is to dress professionally and
appropriately for the area you serve. I have mixed feelings about
the scrubs. Although I'm sure people associate them with
cleanliness, unless there is new information out there, I remember
studies in which women who thought that breastfeeding needed to be
taught and managed by a medical professional found that idea to be a
barrier. I associate scrubs with hospitals and clinics and for a
lactation consultant to dress in scrubs definitely makes it seem more
medical.
