Just came back from a consult. 5 day old infant, 3 hour labor, mom has sore, cracked nipples. I was trying to help with latch and getting a deeper latch and the baby just keeps sliding down to the tip of the nipple. The last time I saw a baby like this there was a posterior tongue tie and a labia frenulum. Tried every position and every pillow in the room to help adjust without success. Then I looked around in the mouth and did find a  labia frenulum and no signs of the posterior tongue. There isn't alot of info out there on the labia frenulum. I suggested she go to her pediatrician. Any ideas or suggestions I can pass on to this mom?
