Colleen Robinson, you asked about resources for a mother of triplets. If
she has not yet done so, she could contact The Triplet Connection, a
nonprofit organization headed by Janet Bleyl, PO Box 99571, Stockton, CA
95209, (209)474-0885. She can get a packet of information for expectant
parents, a quarterly newsletter, suggestions for preventing preterm births,
and other information. I beleive that Janet Bleyl breastfed her own
triplets plus other children, and encourages breastfeeding. Although Karen
Gromada's book, "Mothering Multiples" is focused on caring for and
breastfeeding twins, many of the suggestions are helpful with triplets as
well. A wonderful, comforting and understanding book! If you can get hold
of an old "La Leche League News" (Jan-Feb 1984, Vol. 26, No. 1) there is a
light-hearted (maybe a bit too much so) article on totally breastfed
triplets with 3 photos of thriving babies/toddlers. And the newsletter
"DoubleTalk" from Winter 1984, Vol. 4, no.1 has 2 more sobering stories of
breastfeeding preemie triplets. (P.O. Box 412, Amelia, OH 45102. Karen
Gromada, is this still available?
Also, "Having Twins" by Elizabeth Noble has information about statistics,
history, pregnancy and birth plans.
