Sylvia, I'm glad you are bringing up craniosacral therapy again. I
discovered this work through Lactnet and it has been so very useful in my
practice. I have found four therapists trained specifically for work with
infants. I suggested the treatments for unresolvable sore nipples
("clamping"), round-the-clock gas pain (without problematic stools, baby
wanting to suck fiercely all of the time), ineffecient suck, and continued
difficulty with latch.

The outcomes have been favorable each time, and I always wish baby could
have found the relief sooner. Since it is so little known I don't push for
it until it is absolutely certain that other measures aren't going to work.
I find resistence from some of the parents at first, and I understand this.
One baby was weaned to abm because the parents didn't want to try something
that was uncertain. (Of course, the resultant severe allergic experience of
their baby was NOT uncertain--at least not to me.)

As I see more successful outcomes I will be quicker to recommend this
treatment. I would like it to be an early treatment instead of a last
resort. I,too, was able to see one session and was impressed with the
gentleness and non-invasive nature of the treatment. When the usual
corrective measures are carried out and a baby still can't feed well, she
needs further help

If any of you want to read more about it, a search of the Archives will give
you some good information. Try it with both one word and two.
