Jaye, I would be very concerned about the raw milk and the raw chicken
liver, and the egg feeding at 4 months. There is room for plenty of
error with all these ingredients, the allergenicity and bacterial
content of all would worry me. Fully realizing the imperfections of
manufactured formulas, I think I would choose a manufactured one over
these. Donor milk would be a better choice, she can pasteurize it at
home.

On another note, in response to Arly, very recently our Labor nurses
now have to ask mothers if there is a history of eczema (I'm not sure
how they screen the moms or just ask "is there a hx of eczema on
either side of the families?"). I haven't seen any real education re
the screening. However, if the mother indicates a positive hx of
eczema, the baby (if formula fed or bf/ supplemented) is put on
GentleEase formula (a Mead Johnson product) which is partially
hyrolyzed. I don't know how this came about but I could guess it was
in response to some savvy formula marketing. Arly is so right that
many doctors need more (non-marketing) education on this subject.
