I think you are correct. I doubt that anything Linda presents will change this doctor's feelings. At least, not in the short term. It is difficult to change feelings. Difficult, but not impossible. 

But it is good that he is at least talking to her about his opinion. If he didn't value her input somewhat, he wouldn't bother speaking to her at all, or sending his patients to her for care. This indicates that at some point in time, there may be positive change.
