I've been following with interest the discussions on the effect of
epidurals on suckling and the inquiries about possible research in this
area.  I am conducting a multi-site research study that is looking at
epidurals and suckling. We will be finished with the data collection at the
end of summer and will analyze the data in the fall.  I'll let you know our
findings when it's completed.
