I never thought I would see the day in which the United States is bullying countries like Ecuador into removing protections for breastfeeding, but it's true. I don't know what is going on this country anymore. It's a very sad day. And amazingly it was Russia to the rescue at the World Health Assembly.

The US delegation threatened trade sanctions and removal of military support if Ecuador didn't remove protections that allow unchecked sales of infant formula in their country. It's unbelievable. All I can say is I don't know what is happening in the US anymore. It's a very sad day.
We really need to do something. I'm picturing about a thousand breastfeeding women sitting out in front of the White House breastfeeding their babies? Anyone know of any protests being organized or interested in starting one, email me off list if this is too political for this forum. Thank you.
