Pat,

I saw a case similar to this many years ago. The mother was unable to latch
the baby on well on the one side.

The part of the mass I could palpate felt like a Necco wafer. Do you
remember those candies?

Mother said she noticed the thickening during pregnancy, asked her physician
about it, and he said it would go away after the baby was born.

I told her that the baby would never be able to latch on to that breast as
it was and sent her to her back to her physician.

The news was not good. A biopsy indicated cancer. Mother weaned abruptly and
had surgery very quickly.

My records were subpoenad several years later. I worried I would have to
testify, but never heard anything more.
