Monica-
I don't have a medical answer for you, but anecdotally I can share that I
used to wear contact lenses for several days at a time------ until my
first pregnancy. During the pregnancy, my eyes started to get drier and
could not tolerate the contacts long-term, and I started having to use
them as daily wear. This continued through lactation, and then three more
pregnancies and lactations. My eyes no longer can tolerate the longer
regime, and I resigned myself years ago to that fact. I still note that
in long, intense conversations where one is looking in one spot for a
while that my eyes get very dry and start to blur. I've always blamed it
on my hormones and all the changes that accompanied my body with
childbearing.
